Services for publishers
I have extensive experience of copyediting, proofreading and collating journal papers and non-fiction books for publishers. I will apply your house style, provide language editing and/or check layout and formatting as required.
Services for organisations and institutes
I can edit or proofread your organisation’s research reports, evaluations, approach papers, technical notes, etc. I will work with you to ensure your published documents are clear, correct and consistent.
Services for individual researchers and academics
I offer manuscript proofreading and copyediting services for authors who are preparing to submit their research to a journal. In addition to English language editing, I can also format your paper to fit your target journal’s guidelines.
Pricing
I normally charge for copyediting and proofreading according to the word count of the document, rather than by the hour, as this allows clients to calculate the cost from the outset.
The rate for each project is determined individually, as every job has different requirements. As a rough guide, my copyediting rates range from £20 to £50 per thousand words, depending on factors such as length, complexity and required turnaround time.
To assess your project and provide a quote, I will need a representative sample of the document along with details of your timescale and the word or page count of the complete document. If required, I can also provide a sample edit for a one-off fee that is refundable against the final cost of the edit if you decide to proceed.
